This organization is headed by the Director-General Indian Coast Guard and command and superintendence from the coast guard headquarters located in New Delhi. Indian Coast Guard Recruitment:

Job Role: Assistant Commandant-General Duty/Technical

Qualification: BE/B.Tech/Any Degree/Diploma

Salary: Rs 56100/Month

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

General Duty:

  • Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (i.e. 1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech Course or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree candidates wherever applicable).
  • Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics. {Candidates not in possession of Physics and Maths in 10+2 (intermediate) or equivalent level are not eligible for General Duty (GD)}.

Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA)

  • Candidates holding current /valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued/ validated by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Minimum educational qualification – XIIth pass (Physics and Mathematics) with 60% marks in aggregate.

Technical(Mechanical)

  • Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks.OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
  • Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Technical (Engineering & Electrical):

  • Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
  • Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Age Limit: 

  • General Duty -Born between01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2001(Both dates inclusive)
  • Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA)-Born between 01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2003(Both dates inclusive).
  • Technical -Born between 01 Jul 1993 to 30 Jun 2001(Both dates inclusive).

Upper age is relexable by:

  • For OBC – up to 3 years
  • For SC/ST – up to 5 years

Category Wise Vacancies: Total Vacancies –71 Posts

  • General Duty/CPL(SSA): 50 Posts
  • Technical: 20 Posts
  • Law: 1 Post

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment Selection Process:

  • The selection of Officer Recruits is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) ofexamination and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG.All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination.

Examination Fee: Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only)through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI.
