ODISHA POWER TRANSMISSION CORPORATION LIMITED (OPTCL), one of the largest Transmission Utility in the country was incorporated in March 2004 under the Companies Act, 1956 as a company wholly owned by the Government of Odisha to undertake the business of transmission and wheeling of electricity in the State. OPTCL became fully operational with effect from 9th June 2005 consequent upon issue of Odisha Electricity Reform (Transfer of Transmission and Related Activities).

OPTCL Recruitment 2022:

Job Role:  Management Trainee

Qualification: BE/B.Tech

Salary: Rs.20,000 – 32,215/-

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

  • Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution or Passing of Section-A&B of IE (India) in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Minimum 60 % or Equivalent CGPA .
  • For SC/PwBD candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50%.
  • Valid Score in GATE 2022: Candidate should have appeared and qualified GATE 2022 conducted by IITs and Marks Out of 100 should be mentioned while applying. The qualifying marks as declared by GATE 2022 Organizing Body shall be considered.

Age Limit (as on 01.8.2022): 

  • Candidate must not be under 21 (Twenty one) years of age and must not be above 32 (Thirty two) years
  • Relaxation for SC : Upper age relaxation by 5 (five) Years
  • Relaxation for Women : Upper age relaxation by 5 (five) Years
  • Relaxation for Ex-SM : To the extent of service rendered by them
  • Relaxation for PWD (whose permanent disability is 40% or more) : Upper age relaxation by 10 (Ten) Years.

  • The Corporation offers a competative pay package. During the training period they shall be paid a stipend of Rs. 50,000/-. Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Pay Matrix:- Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500 (Level EE-2) with Initial Basic Pay of Rs.56,100/- after completion of the one-year training period.
  • On successful completion of training, the candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical ) in level EE-2 in the pay scale – Pay Matrix:-Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500/.

OPTCL Recruitment 2022 Selection Process:

The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the Electrical Engineering discipline paper of GATE 2022 & Personal Interview.Candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2022.
